About Bartrams Residence:-
Bartrams Residence is owned and maintained by the Sisters of Providence. Bartrams Residence was originally an orphanage and then turned into a boarding school. After the convent was destroyed by the bombing raids in 1940, a new building opened as a residence for students and was officially opened in 1959 by His Eminence Cardinal Godfrey.

Bartrams offers accommodation to 70 female students and all are welcome from other faiths and cultures.

Bartrams provides a happy and friendly atmosphere which is vital to the young girls, many of whom this is their first experience away from family and home.

General Description of Works:-
Throughout the entire building from the Basement – Roof new electrical services had been installed with the following:-

  • a mains electrical sub-board
  • rising sub-mains, Distribution Boards
  • new lighting and power video access control
  • internal intercom
  • aerial system and wireless network

Cable Management
Small power and lighting distribution system comprised of:-

  • various cable management with surface mini-trunking
  • cornice 2 compartment trunking
  • 3 compartment plastic trunking and existing conduit systems

Power Distribution
Each floor consists of:-

  • new rising sub mains and Distribution Boards to serve lighting and power requirement

Lighting
All new luminaires are energy efficient are by means of high frequency switch gear and triphospher controlled by mixture of photo cells and manual switching.

Emergency Lighting
Emergency lighting had been provided with a mixture of self contained luminaires and fire exist legends to assist lighting escape routes and exits.

Video Access Control System
A dedicated video access control system had been installed covering main entrances and doorways to basement.

Internal Intercom System
A dedicated internal intercom system had been installed to assist internal communications.

Wireless Network System
A wireless network system had been provided to serve both the Sisters and students areas throughout the building enabling complete access to Broadband 24/7.
